Hornbill School has been recognised as a National Support School by National College of Teaching and Leadership in March 2014 after the school was recognised as outstanding for the second time in a row by Ofsted in 2014. For a school to qualify as a National Support School, it must:
be judged as outstanding by Ofsted;
show consistently high levels of pupil performance and progress or continued improvement over the last 3 years;
be above the current minimum standards set by the government;
have outstanding senior and middle leaders who have demonstrated that they have a strong track record and the capacity to provide significant support to under-performing schools.
As a National Support School, Hornbill School now can support under-performing schools to raise their standard and improve their education provisions.
