University for Children is a community education project which is open to children aged 7 to 13. This pilot project led by Hornbill School is currently for students of St. John’s School, St. Margaret’s School, Chung Ching Middle School and Hornbill School but it is hoped to extend to other Belait Schools in the future.
Each University For Children term lasts for 3-6 weeks and interested students are welcome to
apply for a place on any of the modules offered. Modules run between 3.15pm and 4.30pm at different venues and completion of a module will lead to the award of a prestigious University for Children Certificate. These certificates build up towards University for Children Awards which will be presented annually at a special Graduation Ceremony.
There is a cost of B$ 3 per student, per session and we do ask for commitment to attend all 6 sessions once enrolled on a module .
Modules are led by tutors employed by University for Children. The only
requirements to take part are
enthusiasm and a keen desire to learn.
